A feisty cat fight will be fought as Daniel Lions take on Seneca Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Daniel managed to slip by Fountain Inn the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Daniel came up short against Fountain Inn last Friday, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since April 12, 2024.
Ty Simpson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seneca, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Walhalla on Thursday. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Razorbacks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Tyler Vassey made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Vassey was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Alex Bene looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, William Cutshall was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Coltyn Hawk, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Seneca kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walhalla only managed six hits.
Seneca pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Daniel, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
Daniel might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Seneca in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Daniel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
