They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Virginia Episcopal School 83-54 on the road. Given Blue Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Virginia Episcopal School is ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blue Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shanon Simango out in front who scored 19 points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Kamren Martin, who scored 13 points along with five assists.
Blue Ridge's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.3 points per game. As for Virginia Episcopal School, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.
Blue Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oak Hill Academy - Red at 3:30 p.m. on January 19th. Oak Hill Academy - Red is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Virginia Episcopal School, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodberry Forest at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
