The Rancho Bernardo Broncos had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They breezed by San Marcos on the road to the tune of 48-12. The result was nothing new for Rancho Bernardo, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Rancho Bernardo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cruz Partida, who rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Brock Fields , who threw for 179 yards and four touchdowns.
Rancho Bernardo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for San Marcos, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rancho Bernardo will take on Mt. Carmel at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Carmel comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for San Marcos, they will look to defend their home field on October 28th against Del Norte at 10:00 a.m.
