The Steelville Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the West County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Steelville was beaten by Belle 61-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Steelville has scored all season.
Meanwhile, West County came up short against Potosi on Saturday and fell 42-33.
Steelville's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for West County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.
Steelville skirted past West County 68-65 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Steelville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
