In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 34-33 victory over Poinciana. That 34-33 margin sets a new team best for Liberty this season.
It was another big night for India Smith, who scored 15 points along with seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Liberty's points. Another player making a difference was Jade Morris, who scored five points along with ten rebounds.
Liberty's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5. As for Poinciana, they bumped their record down to 3-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Liberty won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Evans at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th. Evans is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Poinciana, they will head out on the road to face off against Ridge Community at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
