The Wilmington Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Morris, falling 67-38. While losing is never fun, Wilmington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 555th, while the Redskins are ranked 185th).
Wilmington lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nikki Quigley, who scored seven points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Drown, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Wilmington has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for Morris, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-9.
