The Walton Braves will square off against the Northview Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Walton is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They lost 18-11 to Bay. One positive for the Braves, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Timmy Busby made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Ceaton Ealum also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Busby wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Walton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They never let Pensacola Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Friday. The Chiefs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Jayden White and Grayden Sheffield were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, White kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Sheffield tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, White didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. At the plate, White went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Sheffield scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Sheffield is becoming a predictor of Northview's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Northview got a massive performance out of Dane King, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Smith, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Northview is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.4 hits in those games compared to only 4.8 in the others. Walton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Walton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Northview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Walton might still be hurting after the 12-1 loss they got from Northview in their previous meeting back in February. Will Walton have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
