This season hasn't been kind to The IMG Academy Blue Ascenders, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were outmatched by Community School of Naples on the road and fell 41-13. IMG Academy Blue was down 27-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the loss, IMG Academy Blue still got an impressive performance from ALEX NEURA, who rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 40 yards and a touchdown. NEURA is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
IMG Academy Blue's loss was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Lemon Bay and 5-2 North Port (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.1% over those games). As for Community School of Naples, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
IMG Academy Blue will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Southwest Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 2nd. As for Community School of Naples, they will head out on the road to face off against First Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. First Baptist Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
