The Mountain View Mountain Lions lost against the Roosevelt Roughriders back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mountain View fell 28-21 to Roosevelt. Mountain View has not had much luck with Roosevelt recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Bergen Roth, who rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 124 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Trent Lawson, who gained 90 total yards and a touchdown.
Roosevelt's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Ramirez, who rushed for 204 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Ramirez is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Bronco Hartson was another key contributor, throwing for 199 yards and two touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes.
Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Roosevelt will head out on the road to face off against Riverdale Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale Ridge will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
