The biggest upset of the week belonged to J.P. McCaskey, who took down 147th ranked Hempfield, 44-30.
The Red Tornado moved up to 241 from 346 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Lancaster-Lebanon 1. A 44-30 win over the Black Knights helped J.P. McCaskey improve its standing.
Roman Clay was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 67 yards as Lancaster Catholic fell to Penn Manor. Trey Miller also contributed to the rushing game with one yard on the ground.
Brennan Scott put up the best numbers through the air as Manheim Township topped Warwick. He finished with 10 completions for 176 yards and three touchdowns. Scott's favorite target this week was Tyler Karpinski, who caught four passes for 63 yards.
Titus was the best wideout in the league this week as the Crusaders lost to the Comets. Titus tallied six receptions for 125 yards. Nevin Pagan helped Lancaster Catholic's passing attack out by catching one ball for 33 yards.
The Blue Streaks' Scott and Karpinski have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Lancaster-Lebanon 1 in both passing and receiving yards. Scott has thrown for 943 yards this season, while Karpinski, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 35 catches for 477 yards. Clay from Lancaster Catholic leads the league in rushing with 1064 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Wilson takes on Hempfield. The Bulldogs' offense has recorded 165 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Ron Zeiber's team has permitted only 179 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Robert Monzon's team takes on Penn Manor. At the moment, the Red Tornado are in sixth, while Todd Mealy's team is in first.
The Comets extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Bruce Harbach's team, 28-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for Penn Manor.
