The Glenvar Highlanders will face off against the Gretna Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenvar is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Glenvar walked away with it. They breezed by Patrick County at home to the tune of 56-0. The result was nothing new for Glenvar, who have now won seven games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Gretna entered their tilt with Floyd County with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Gretna won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Floyd County 28-27.
Gretna relied on the efforts of Melvin Wooden, who rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown, and Amare Gunn, who gained 89 total yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 9-2.
