The Miami Beach Hi-Tides will face off against the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Miami Beach is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Southridge on Monday. They lost 8-1 to the Spartans. The Hi-Tides have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Miami Beach got a good showing from Jon Solowitz, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave Solowitz a new career-low.
At the plate, Miami Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lenonx Munoz, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Immaculata-La Salle entered their tilt with Goleman on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Gators.
Jeremy Fornos made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Fornos was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jonny Quintana, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianni Farach, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Immaculata-La Salle pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Miami Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
Miami Beach couldn't quite get it done against Immaculata-La Salle when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Hi-Tides avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
