Mission Veterans Memorial has not had much luck with Rio Grande City recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Diego Serrano, who scored five points along with six rebounds and five assists. Serrano has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Armando Galaviz, who scored seven points.
Mission Veterans Memorial has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Rio Grande City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-11.
Mission Veterans Memorial will head out on the road to challenge Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rio Grande City, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Roma at 7:30 p.m. Roma is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
