The West Wendover Wolverines lost against the Pershing County Mustangs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. West Wendover received a tough blow as they fell 43-27 to the Mustangs. West Wendover has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
It was another big night for Raegan Burrows, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 20 rebounds for Pershing County. Burrows is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Yasmine McKinney was another key contributor, scoring three points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
West Wendover's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Pershing County, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 20-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Wendover is on the road again on Friday and plays the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Sierra Lutheran is ranked 69th, while the Wolverines are ranked 60th). As for Pershing County, they will head out on the road to take on the Lakers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
