Northside Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 50-38 win over the Richland Northeast Cavaliers. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northside Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evie Godfrey led the charge by putting up 19 points and seven steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Godfrey has scored at least a third of Northside Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Chaelyn Tifre, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 boards.

Northside Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in 18 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Northside Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Richland Northeast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Northside Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-22 win against Saluda on the 23rd. After both having extra time off, Richland Northeast and Lancaster will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
