The Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls will challenge the Jemez Valley Warrior at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Oak Grove Classical Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Jemez Valley likes a good challenge.
On Saturday, Oak Grove Classical Academy got the win against Navajo Pine by a conclusive 19-6.
Max Shiver made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Grayson Grebe and Isaac Rush did most of the damage at the plate: Grebe got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs, while Rush scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Grebe has become a key player for Oak Grove Classical Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-6 otherwise. James Schroeder was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Oak Grove Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .400 that Navajo Pine posted.
Meanwhile, Jemez Valley scored first but ultimately less than Rehoboth Christian in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against the Lynx, falling 16-2. The Warrior have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Oak Grove Classical Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Jemez Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Jemez Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oak Grove Classical Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .419.
