Gresham has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Nelson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gresham will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Gresham brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They blew past David Douglas, posting a 42-0 win on the road. The victory was just what Gresham needed coming off of a 38-12 loss in their prior contest.
Gresham found their leader in underclassman Liam Arnold, who threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Snow, who picked up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Nelson had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 28-13 win over Sandy.
Gresham's win bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Nelson, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2.
Gresham was taken down by Nelson 40-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Gresham have more luck at home instead of on the road?
