The Chatham Charter Knights will head out on the road to  square off against  the Uwharrie Charter Eagles at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
 Chatham Charter put another one in the bag  on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They won by a  run and slipped past Providence Grove  8-7.
  Cassie McKeithan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  seven innings while giving up  five earned  (and two unearned) runs off   12  hits (and not a single walk). McKeithan was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Ella Ingle was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was  Maggie Rippe, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Uwharrie Charter never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  1-0  win over Eastern Randolph. Despite the  victory, that was the fewest points Uwharrie Charter has scored all season.
  Mollie Bulla spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just zero earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Katelyn West, who  went 2-for-3 with a  triple, a  run,  and a  double.
 Chatham Charter's record now sits at 4-0. As for Uwharrie Charter, their win was  their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 6-0.
 Both  the two teams just can't seem to miss. Chatham Charter has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 9.5  hits per game. However, it's not like Uwharrie Charter struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  only 3.7  per game. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Chatham Charter suffered a grim  16-0 defeat to Uwharrie Charter  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2017. Can Chatham Charter avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
