Pearland moved up to 113 from 161 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region III District 22. The Oilers were able to make move up by defeating Pasadena Memorial 42-16.
Manvel extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Sam Rayburn, 49-3. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Manvel's dynamic duo of Shane McCarley and Austin Bennett proved tough for the Texans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. McCarley threw for 315 yards and six touchdowns and Bennett had 142 yards receiving. Carlos Thompson helped Manvel's passing attack out by catching four balls for 114 yards.
Reggie Turner was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 91 yards on 16 carries as the Mavericks bested Sam Rayburn. Jordan Wyatt also contributed to the rushing game with 26 yards on the ground.

McCarley has thrown for 2613 yards this season, while Thompson, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 43 catches for 775 yards. Pasadena Memorial's Turner leads the league in rushing yards with 1043.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Pearland takes on second place Manvel. Pearland defeated Chris Quillian's team last week, while Manvel beat Chris Bussey's team.
