Parrish Community is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home field against the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Parrish Community is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Last Wednesday, Parrish Community beat Deerfield Academy 10-7.
Mason Plese looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Parrish Community let Jonathan Maassen and Sam Torres run wild. Maassen went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Torres got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Maassen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Tallo, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Lakewood Ranch fell victim to Sarasota and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to the Sailors. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Sailors: they've now lost four in a row.
Lakewood Ranch also got a good showing from Alex Stablein, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Parrish Community's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Lakewood Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Lakewood Ranch's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Parrish Community hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. It's a different story for Lakewood Ranch, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Parrish Community's hitters?
Parrish Community took their victory against Lakewood Ranch in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1. Will Parrish Community repeat their success, or does Lakewood Ranch has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
