Bearden came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Maryville Red Rebels 7-0. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bearden pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Maryville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season.

Bearden will take on Grace Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maryville, they will be playing at home against Pigeon Forge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Red Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
