Basketball Recap: Christ the Cornerstone Academy Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Victory

Christ the Cornerstone Academy entered their tilt with Sandhills Classical Christian on Thursday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Sandhills Classical Christian Lions 52-24. The Defenders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Christ the Cornerstone Academy had a senior duo take command as Bryce Haywood went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points along with eight boards and five steals and Will Jackson went 8 of 13 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds. Jackson's morning made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Micah Wyckoff was another key player, putting up nine points.

Christ the Cornerstone Academy pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Sandhills Classical Christian, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Christ the Cornerstone Academy will welcome Liberty Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sandhills Classical Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Faith Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sandhills Classical Christian is facing Faith Christian at the right time seeing as Faith Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
