The Dayton Broncos were the 34-25 winner over the Texas City Stingarees when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Dayton was dealt a 41-6 loss at the hands of Texas City on Friday. While losing is never fun, Dayton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Texas City is ranked 147th).
Hunter Wallace threw for 196 yards on 11 of 29 attempts. Dawson Victorian was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Dayton has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Texas City, the victory was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Dayton will be playing at home against Fort Bend Willowridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Willowridge is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Texas City, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
