The Hawthorne Hornets extended their postseason success on Friday against the Williston Red Devils. They strolled past the Red Devils with points to spare, taking the game 34-16. The victory was just business as usual for Hawthorne, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Hawthorne got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keenon Johnson out in front who rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown. Johnson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games. Alvon Isaac was in the mix as well, providing Hawthorne with two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Williston lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ja?mez Jamison. Despite the final result, he rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Jamison was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Hawthorne has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.78 points. As for Williston, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-1.
Hawthorne will take on Blountstown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Blountstown's defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so Hawthorne's offense will have their work cut out for Hawthorne. Williston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
