Fans got a thrill when Ryan Perkins and Trey Bellows connected against Goessel. The connection went for 65 yards, the longest such play in Northern Plains (8 Man) this season.
Lincoln lost to Hanover 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zac Walter ran for 13 yards in the defeat.
Southern Cloud's dynamic duo of Perkins and Bellows proved tough for the Bluebirds to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Perkins threw for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns and Bellows had 102 yards receiving. Dakota Cooper helped Southern Cloud's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 36 yards.
The Warriors' dynamic duo of Perkins and Bellows proved to be unstoppable against Goessel, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Matt Davied made the biggest impact on defense this week as Lincoln fell to the Wildcats. The 6-foot-3 sophomore.
Trent Rietzke was the best running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 187 yards as Thunder Ridge beat Garrett Hiebert's team. Teammate Shane Webb added to the ground attack by rushing for 45 yards.
Bellows was the best receiver in the league this week as Tyler Williams' team topped the Bluebirds.
Perkins put up the best numbers in passing as the Warriors defeated Goessel.
Rock Hills's Chanse Copple and Devon Freeman have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Northern Plains (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Copple has thrown for 497 yards this season, while Freeman, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 19 catches for 261 yards. The Longhorns' Rietzke leads the league in rushing yards with 543.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Thunder Ridge and St. John's/Tipton Catholic. Jerry voorhees' team comes into the matchup ranked fifth in the state, while the Bluejays ranks 19th.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Longhorns take on St. John's/Tipton Catholic. Thunder Ridge has allowed 42 points this season, while Keith Kresin's team has given up 52. The Longhorns allowed 12 points last week as they topped Logan.
Thunder Ridge led the league in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on the Trojans. Rietzke caught 3 passes for 14 yards in the win.
