Chatham Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kymani Wagner-Jatta out in front who went 5-for-6 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance gave Wagner-Jatta a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Breylan Harris, who posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.
Chatham Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 63 points the game before, Woods Charter was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 73-25 defeat at the hands of Southern Wake Academy. The Wolves have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Chatham Charter will have to keep a close watch on Grant Richardson and Campbell Blackburn, a pair of players who had a big impact on Woods Charter's prior game. Richardson earned 11 points, while Blackburn had six points. Blackburn continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Chatham Charter's victory bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Woods Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Chatham Charter has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Woods Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
