Boyertown is 8-2 against Owen J. Roberts since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Boyertown Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Owen J. Roberts Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. Boyertown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Saturday, Boyertown beat Interboro 65-53. With that victory, Boyertown brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Boyertown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Kern, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Thompson, who scored 18 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Owen J. Roberts' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Lancaster Mennonite. While losing is never fun, Owen J. Roberts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while Lancaster Mennonite is ranked 179th).
Boyertown's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Owen J. Roberts, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Boyertown came out on top in a nail-biter against Owen J. Roberts in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 70-67. Does Boyertown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Owen J. Roberts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
