Softball Recap: Hampton Has No Trouble Against Poyen

Hampton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Poyen, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hampton Bulldogs put the hurt on the Poyen Indians with a sharp 9-2 victory on Thursday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Hampton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. Poyen dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hampton will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Woodlawn at 5:00 p.m. on March 31st. Poyen will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Junction City at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
