After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Campbell, the Oakwood Panthers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They secured a 53-48 W over Centerville. For Oakwood, this counts as revenge for the 70-43 defeat Centerville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oakwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Strickland , who scored 15 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Strickland has scored at least 25% of Oakwood's points. Another player making a difference was Jarvis Jones, who scored 13 points.
Centerville's loss came despite strong showings from Iain Kendrick and Colton Brasuell. Kendrick scored 22 points, while Brasuell dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Brasuell scored a full 27.1% of Centerville's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Havard, who scored 2 points along with 7 rebounds.
The win got Oakwood back to even at 1-1. As for Centerville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Oakwood's road trip will continue as they head out to face Centerville at 2:15 p.m. on November 30th. As for Centerville, they will face off against Oakwood at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday.
