The Durant Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Riverview Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Durant is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Durant barely beat East Bay the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 11-4 win on Monday. Considering the Cougars have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Durant got a great performance from Briella Simonetti as she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Destiny Bryant was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Chancey, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Durant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Riverview didn't have quite enough to beat Sumner on Thursday and fell 9-7. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Stingrays recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Brooklyn Girard and Cecilia Cartwright did some serious damage despite the final result: Girard went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Cartwright went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Durant's record now sits at 13-6. As for Riverview, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Durant has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Riverview struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Durant couldn't quite finish off Riverview when the teams last played back in March and fell 2-0. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
