On Thursday, Pioneer came up short against Ferndale and fell 47-39. While losing is never fun, Pioneer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while Ferndale is ranked 96th).
Ferndale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Demi Bolton out in front who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Iyanna Davis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Pioneer's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Ferndale, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Pioneer won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ludington at 11:00 a.m. on December 29th. As for Ferndale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Troy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
