Last Friday, everything came up roses for Piedmont Classical on the road against Bethany as the squad secured a 70-19 victory. The victory was just what Piedmont Classical needed coming off of a 67-31 loss in their prior contest.
Piedmont Classical's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ja'el Lawson led the charge by scoring 12 points. Cameron Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Leadership Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cornerstone Charter 82-51 at home. Considering Leadership Academy has won four matches by more than 30 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Among those leading the charge was Landon Burleyson, who scored 25 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Caleb Foster, who scored 12 points.
Piedmont Classical's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Leadership Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Piedmont Classical haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 0 turnovers per game. It's a different story for Leadership Academy, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 per game. Given Piedmont Classical's sizeable advantage in that area, Leadership Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
