St. Mary's and Horseheads' game last Sunday was close at halftime, but St. Mary's turned on the heat in the second half with 47 points. St. Mary's put the hurt on Horseheads with a sharp 69-45 win.
St. Mary's found their leader in underclassman Emily Mcdonald, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mcdonald has scored at least 25% of St. Mary's points. Another player making a difference was Jada Mushat, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Randolph didn't have too much trouble with Depew on the road on Tuesday as they won 51-36.
It was another big night for Quinn Pence, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. The matchup was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Bowles, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
St. Mary's now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Randolph, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: St. Mary's hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 63 points per game. However, it's not like Randolph struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 59.2 points per game. The only thing between St. Mary's and another offensive beatdown is Randolph. Will they be able to keep them contained?
St. Mary's took their victory against Randolph in their previous meeting on December 1st by a conclusive 65-42. Does St. Mary's have another victory up their sleeve, or will Randolph turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
