Basketball Recap: DSST: Cedar Has No Trouble Against Bruce Randolph

DSST: Cedar's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Bruce Randolph Grizzlies with points to spare, taking the game 58-44.

It was another big night for Matt Stophel, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. Stophel is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Same Mehari, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

DSST: Cedar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

DSST: Cedar's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Bruce Randolph, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DSST: Cedar will take on DMLK at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in DMLK's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while DSST: Cedar has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Bruce Randolph, they will challenge Denver West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Denver West will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Bruce Randolph surely won't give up without a fight.
