Jalen Smith Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Marion got the W thanks in part to Jalen Smith playing the best football he has all season. Smith rushed for 302 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 61 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.
If the past is any indication, Smith could be in store for another big game when he takes on Catholic on Friday. Smith rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry the last time he and the Rockets duked it out back in November of 2023.

Tj Brown Has Career-Day on Friday
On Friday, Jonesboro got the W thanks in part to Tj Brown playing the best football he has all season. Brown rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 106 or more in the last three games he's played.
Jonesboro's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. Brown and Jonesboro will challenge El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Marion Wins Fifth-Straight Thanks to Zadean Wilson
Zadean Wilson was instrumental in extending Marion's winning streak to five on Friday. Sheridan had no answer to Wilson as he picked up two sacks and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Myers Came Up Big in Jonesboro's 57-26 Victory
The second Jonesboro player making an appearance here is Asa Myers, and for good reason. He threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes.
