Velma-Alma and Allen squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Velma-Alma had to settle for second. They took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Allen Mustangs. The Comets' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Leading Allen to victory were Landin Tenequer and Gus Matthews. Tenequer posted 19 points, while Matthews earned 17 points. That's the most points Matthews has posted since back in February of 2024. Bodee Garrett was another key player, putting up seven points.

Velma-Alma's loss dropped their record down to 25-3. As for Allen, their record is now 20-6.

Velma-Alma does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Allen has already played their next matchup (against Wright City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
