Michael Trechter had a dynamite game, rushing for 235 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 148 yards and one TD. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. A healthy portion of Trechter's aerial production (90 yards to be exact) went to Jackson Beam, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Mary's was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 305 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gilpin County only rushed for 82 rushing yards.

Despite the loss, Gilpin County still got an impressive performance from Landon Church, who picked up 127 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 43 yards. Church also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 12 total tackles and defending one pass.
Looking ahead, St. Mary's will look to defend their home field on Friday against Akron at 7:00 p.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 861 yards in their previous games. As for Gilpin County, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lake County at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
