The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hempfield, who took down 196th ranked Hempfield, 42-9.
Penn Manor extended the longest winning streak in Lancaster-Lebanon 1 this week by beating Manheim Township, 30-6. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Comets.
Evan Purvis and Roman Clay gave Lancaster Catholic a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Purvis threw for 86 yards and one touchdown, while Clay ran for 117 yards. Teammate Sean Titus added to the ground attack by rushing for 13 yards.
Brennan Scott provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Blue Streaks fell to Penn Manor. He completed 14 passes for 141 yards and also ran for 12 yards. Scott's favorite target this week was Ryan Morgan, who caught four passes for 84 yards.
Manheim Township's Scott and Tyler Karpinski have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Scott has thrown for 1464 yards this season, while Karpinski, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 44 catches for 742 yards. Clay from the Crusaders leads the league in rushing with 1290 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Wilson takes on Mark Evans' team. The Bulldogs are currently in second, while the Blue Streaks are in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Wilson and Manheim Township face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Doug Dahms' team comes in having scored 235 this season, while the Blue Streaks have scored 184. The Bulldogs scored 14 points last week as they bested Lancaster Catholic.
Cedar Crest moved up to 312 from 382 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Lancaster-Lebanon 1. The Falcons climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Black Knights 42-9.
