Basketball Recap: McArthur Takes a Loss

After flying high against Central last Wednesday, McArthur came back down to earth. The Mustangs were beaten by the Miami Country Day Spartans 62-31 on Tuesday. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-12.

McArthur lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Narah Rene, who posted six points and five boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played.

With the loss, McArthur broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3. As for Miami Country Day, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

McArthur has already played their next contest, a 63-24 victory against Piper on the 17th. As for Miami Country Day, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grandview Prep on January 2, 2026.
