Plainfield North (Plainfield, Ill.) senior
Kapri Bibbs ran for a state-record 520 yards Friday night during a 49-43 football victory over
Oswego (Ill.).
According to Mike Knapp of the Chicago Sun-Times, the 5-foot-10, 200-pound tailback carried 39 times and scored seven touchdowns. In the third quarter alone, he scored on runs of 73, 71 and 55 yards.
Bibbs, who has committed to Colorado State University, eclipsed the record of 498 yards set by Billy McClure (Maroa-Forsyth) in 1986.
The Tigers needed every yard, because Oswego’s outstanding 6-3, 195-pound junior quarterback,
Ryan West, completed 38 of 58 passes for 409 yards and five touchdowns. West also ran 13 times for 74 yards.
