The Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles were the 46-41 winner over the Camp Verde Cowboys when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Bourgade Catholic was outmatched by the Cowboys on the road and fell 62-30. Bourgade Catholic has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Bourgade Catholic lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Juliet Botiller. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Botiller hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Williams, who scored two points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Rachel Roderick continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Camp Verde, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roderick has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Wa'siiva Lewis, who scored 11 points.
Bourgade Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Camp Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bourgade Catholic will face off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Camp Verde, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wranglers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Wickenburg has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 9.
