The home team had come away the winner the last four times Dickson County and Kenwood had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Cody Attenberger made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Evan Pevahouse was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lane Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Dickson County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in five consecutive games.
Dickson County's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-15. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Montgomery Central, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.
Montgomery Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Dickson County in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
