Sulphur came into their game  on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt  a  63-17 defeat at the hands of the Southside Sharks. The Golden Tors haven't had much luck with the Sharks recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Although Sulphur took the loss, they still got scores from  Dalton Shirley and  Jordan Jardneaux.
 Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 11 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of  Jardneaux, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Sulphur's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Southside, the  victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sulphur is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Carencro  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southside will  challenge  rival Acadiana  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
