Carbon Hill put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Dora 63-38. Given Carbon Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Dora is ranked 293rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Fayette County pushed their score all the way to 56 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oakman. Fayette County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Carbon Hill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Fayette County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
Carbon Hill skirted past Fayette County 63-60 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Will Carbon Hill repeat their success, or does Fayette County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
