The Kingstree Blazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 29 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Manning 55-25 at home. Given Kingstree's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Manning is ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kingstree to victory, but perhaps none more so than MAKAYLA DUKES, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which DUKES has scored at least 25% of Kingstree's points. Another player making a difference was DEMIA MOSLEY, who scored nine points along with nine steals and six assists.
Kingstree pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Manning, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingstree will face off against Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Manning, they will head out on the road to face off against Aynor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aynor's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Manning's offense will have their work cut out for Manning.
