After a string of 12 wins, the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 56-48 to Natalia. Skidmore-Tynan was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Natalia apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Skidmore-Tynan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cole Rivers. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bennett Martinez, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Skidmore-Tynan's loss dropped their record down to 12-1. As for Natalia, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Skidmore-Tynan's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sinton at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Sinton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1392nd, while Skidmore-Tynan is ranked 342nd). As for Natalia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South San Antonio West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as South San Antonio West comes in on four and Natalia on five.
