Basketball Recap: Hudson Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Hudson extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 20-13. They were the clear victors by a 74-49 margin over the Center Roughriders. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Hornets had established a 22-point advantage.

As for Center, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-21. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1256th, while Hudson is ranked 462nd).

Several Roughriders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jarden Evans, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, Evans is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Christyce (Yummii) Barnes was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hudson will square off against rival Bullard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Center is set to challenge their familiar foe Madisonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
