It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Northwestern Wildcats ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 56-55 win over High Point. The win was just what Northwestern needed coming off of a 84-40 defeat in their prior matchup.
When it comes to explaining why High Point lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kadan Solomonraj. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. The match was Solomonraj's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ibrahim Turay was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine assists.
Northwestern's victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. As for High Point, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Northwestern will head out on the road to face off against Bowie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. High Point will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Glenelg at 9:00 p.m. on December 27th.
