Baseball Recap: Cass City Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cass City proved they can win big on Monday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Laker Lakers 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Red Hawks, who have now won three matches in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Anthony, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Mellendorf, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Cass City's record now sits at 14-9. As for Laker, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6-1 record this season.

Cass City will square off against Bad Axe at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hatchets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.25 runs per game on average), something the Red Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Laker, they will challenge Caro at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lakers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
