The Galileo Lions have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Balboa Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Galileo will be strutting in after a victory while the Buccaneers will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Wednesday, Galileo humbled the Boilermakers with a 56-22 victory.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 30-30 at halftime, Balboa was not quite the Cardinals' equal in the second half on Wednesday. Balboa fell 61-48 to the Cardinals. Balboa has struggled against the Cardinals recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Je'Mon Brown, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists. He also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Sam San Juan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Galileo's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Balboa, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Galileo strolled past the Buccaneers when the teams last played back in January by a score of 59-40. Will Galileo repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
